The Holy Qur’an constituted a unique phenomenon that did not cease to influence both those who believed in it and those who rejected it from ancient times until the present day. This influence did not stop with Muslim poets but extended to include Christian poets as well. This research attempts to approach the modernity poetry and its criticism of the Qur’anic text through Adonis’ poems and criticism, and he is one of the most prominent theorists of modern poetry and its criticism. Influenced by western thought and literatüre, he tried to take a new approach to Arabic poetry. But it is a western product that does not bring it closer to Arabic poetry other than the language. And for thought and vision, it belongs to the European West, not the Islamic East, we deal with Adonis’ approach to the language of the Qur’anic text, which he admired and tried to benefit from despite his rejection of the religious implications called for by the Holy Qur’an, The positive aspect of Adonis’ dealing with the Qur’anic text was limited only to the promotion of its new unique language. On the other hand, we saw his rejection of religion in the life of society, his rebellion against God the Creator, and his adoption of an atheistic mysticism that does not recognize religion. In all of this, he is trying to transcend the sacred and make himself a new deity capable of change and preaching a poetic religion that will replace the religion we believe in.
