Romantic relationships have a higher importance in young adulthood, and many factors are effective in starting and maintaining these relationships. Romantic jealousy is one of these factors that also affect satisfaction and harmony in the relationship. The aim of the present study is to examine the methods of coping with jealousy of university students in terms of personality traits. The sample of the study consists of 223 university students between the ages of 18 and 27, of which 125 are female (56.1%) and 98 are male (43.9%). In the present study, “Big Five Personality Inventory” and “Communicative Responses to Jealousy Scale” were used. Correlation analysis was performed and regression analysis was applied to the variables that were found to be significant. As a result of the regression analysis, it was seen that neurotic personality trait predicted constructive communication and destructive-avoidant communication styles, while openness and mildness personality traits predicted opponent-oriented communication style. The research findings were examined and discussed in light of literature research.
